Thanks to all who entered December's caption competition!

Despite recent weather events, December’s caption competition was certainly no washout with entries such as…
“Santa visits Cockermouth”
"Tie up next to the chimney and I'll put my snorkel on”
The boating scene obviously inspired one rowing enthusiast…
"Hey, chief...couldn't we get some oar clips for next time?" "Rowlocks" "No need to be nasty, chief.. I only asked"
…But not to be out-punned…
“Government policy meant more cuts in the Elf Service”
Then there’s always the one person who has to turn the scene into an interactive video game…
“‘Canoe Hero’ on the Wii was a surprisingly popular toy this Christmas”
And just a couple more faves…
“The image in Jimmy's mind when he overheard mum and dad say that with the credit crunch, this Christmas was going to be all at sea”
“Even the people smugglers were getting into the festive spirit”
But the caption chosen was Clive Gillingham’s:
“BREAKING NEWS! Dramatic CCTV footage implicates SANTA in Pirated Goods scam"
And the runner up chosen was Kelly Dudley’s with:
“With the price of carrots at a record high this year, Santa sought out some sleigh power that could run on Smartprice noodles and lager”
